S.T. Dupont Line D Eternity XL - Maki-e Dragon (Limited Edition)
Simon Tissot Dupont chose to work with the purest lacquer, the Urushi lacquer, and S.T. Dupont to this day continues this legacy. In natural evolution, the brand now merges its historic know-how with the centuries-old Japanese Maki-e technique, that transforms each creation into a unique masterpiece.
Each design is carefully handcrafted, with artisans applying precious gold and silver powder, and mother of pearl to create emblematic Japanese decors. Every piece from this collection is a testament to the beauty of craftsmanship, blending heritage with modern refinement. Artisans use different sizes of gold powder and various application techniques. By adjusting the concentration and texture of the gold powder, they achieve a wide range of stunning effects, resulting in unique and expressive details in every piece.
S.T. Dupont's Japanese artisans partner can produce only a few pieces every month, highlighting their rarity.
Each piece is handpainted by the craftsmen at Wajimaya Zenni, our partner for these collections. As such, they are all signed "Zenni" in Japanese, to ensure their authenticity.
The Dragon collection depicts a majestic dragon symbolizing strength, prosperity, and protection – embodying the spirit of traditional Japanese culture and artistry. Each pen is presented in an S.T. Dupont gift box. The fountain pen features S.T. Dupont’s 14kt gold nib in Medium and fills with the included cartridge or bottled ink using a converter.
Company Background:
S.T. Dupont is a leading brand of luxury products designed and made in France. Founded in Paris in 1847 by its namesake Simon Tissot Dupont, today S.T. Dupont is world famous for their exceptional writing instruments. S.T. Dupont has been a supplier to Royals, Aristocracy and celebrities including: Coco Chanel, Leonardo DiCaprio, the British royal family, Audrey Hepburn, and Marilyn Monroe.
In the 1930s, S.T. Dupont perfected the bonding of the nigh indestructible Urushi lacquer onto metal, offering a strong luxurious finish to their writing instruments. The company mastered the art of fine lacquer by rediscovering and perfecting ancient Japanese and Chinese techniques. This process has become a staple of the luxury S.T. Dupont brand through the present day.
S.T. Dupont products are still made at the original workshop located in Faverges near the French Alps. Their writing instruments are world renowned for precise engineering and intricate goldsmith manufacture. They are committed to innovation and cutting-edge technology while also retaining status as a Heritage brand.
